We thought you might like to see one of Dad and my Christmas Projects this year. These people are not members of the church. The District President learned about them and wanted to take us there. They live underneath a building in Darkhan. It's cozy because of the hot water pipes that flow through that area. But it is a storage room for window glass, left behind furniture and things. The floor is concrete. They have an old rug with a pad where they sleep. You can see the little area where she cooks. She only has a hot pot where she cooks everything. It's not a safe place for the children. They had another area where they stayed, but the pipes burst and flooded it. They had no food. They still need bedding and warm clothes. We bought food and medicine and gave the District President cash to go to the market today and buy blankets and warmer clothing for the children. The little baby has a very bad rash on its tummy area. The little girl had a bad sore on her face. We weren't sure what had caused it. But there are so many possibilities of injuries in that area. Can you imagine raising two children in these circumstances? The parents are the stair keepers to the apartments above this area.They keep 6 stairwells. They are very poor, but they are very happy people and even happier after we came in with the food and medicine for the children. Wish you were here. Wish you could experience some of this. You should all be so very grateful for all that you've been blessed with. America is a wonderful place to live and work, even with all its problems.
