As we prepare to leave our home, family and country, our hearts are full. We have been so very blessed to live in such a peaceful and paradisiacal part of the world. We have also been so blessed to have a large and loving family. We are so very grateful for every member of our family. We are so proud of each of you.
We could not leave you without sharing with you our testimonies, one more time. We are so grateful for a loving Heavenly Father; for the great plan of happiness, wherein He provided for us an earthly home as families, as a period of testing and growth. We know that God lives, that He loves each of His children; that He hears and answers prayer. We know that His Son, Jesus Christ is our Savior; that He came to show us the true way to happiness, and to give himself as a sacrifice for our sins, that if we will repent, we can be forgiven. We testify to you that He restored the gospel to the earth in its fullness with all of the principles and ordinances that are necessary to go back to live with our Heavenly Father when this life is finished. We testify that the young boy, Joseph Smith, saw God the Father and His Son, Jesus Christ, and that he was used as an instrument in the hands of God in restoring the fullness of the gospel to the earth again for the last time. That fullness of the gospel is found in the Book of Mormon, which is the word of God, along with the Holy Bible and the Doctrine & Covenants and the Pearl of Great Price.
These are the last days that were spoken of in Daniel, when the “stone cut out of the mountain would roll forth and fill the whole earth”. That stone is The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, and it is rolling forth throughout the world. We have met missionaries going to every country that you can imagine. We didn’t realize that there were so many in the Arabic countries and China. Many are not permitted to proselyte, but they go as welfare service missionaries doing so much good. The influence of the Lord’s church is changing the destiny of nations. Many of the developing countries have been so blessed by the efforts of the welfare services of the church and its many missionaries. We are so grateful to be a part of this rolling forth.
We can’t impress on you enough, how important it is to read and study the scriptures and other good books that will enlighten and uplift you and strengthen your testimonies. You must maintain strong testimonies of the gospel to be able to withstand the fiery darts of the Adversary in our day. You will most likely live to see the Lord’s Second Coming. It is described as a Great and Dreadful Day. It will be Great to the Faithful, and Dreadful to the Unfaithful. We pray that you will do all that you can to be faithful children of our Father in Heaven. We love you with a love that will last forever. You are ours, born in the covenant. We pray that you will be faithful and keep yourselves clean and unspotted from the world, and that you will apply the great Atonement which our Lord and Savior has provided for each of us when we do make mistakes.
Love you forever and ever.........Mom and Dad
